அன்பு நேயர்களே,

நான் சிறு வயது முதல் இயற்கையாகவே கோவில் சிற்பங்களை வரைவதில் மிகவும் ஆர்வம் உடையவனாக இருந்தேன். பிறருடைய கற்பித்தல் ஏதும் இன்றி இதனை நான் சிரத்தையுடன் செய்து வந்தேன். எனது வாலிப வயதில் எனது மனதில் ஏழுமலையான் வெங்கடாசலபதியின் சிலையை கோயிலில் உள்ளபடியே வரையவேண்டும் என்ற ஆசை தோன்றிற்று. இதன் காரணமாக நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட தடவை ஏழுமலையானை தரிசித்து அத்திருவுருவ சிலையின் அமைப்பை என் மனதில் பதிவு செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தேன். காலங்கள் செல்ல செல்ல ஏழுமலையானின் திருவுருவ சிலையை எந்தவித குறையும் இன்றி ஆபரணங்பளுடனும், அந்த ஆபரணங்களின் வர்ணங்களுடனும் வரைவதற்கு அந்த ஏழுமலையான் எனக்கு திருவருள் புரிந்தார். ஒருமுறை அவ்வாறு வரைந்த ஒரு படத்தை நமது காஞ்சி பெரியவரிடம் கொடுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு எனக்கு கிடைத்தது. அவ்வாறு நான் அவரிடம் அப்படத்தை தரும்போது அவர் மிகவும் மகிழ்ந்து உனக்கு என்ன வேண்டும் என வினவினார். அவரிடம் நான், என்னிடம் எவரெல்லாம் இப்படத்தை வரைந்து பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்கெள்ளாம் அந்த ஏழுமலையானின் பூரண அருள் கிடைத்திட வேண்டும் என வேண்டிக்கொண்டேன். அதற்கு அவர் தனது பூரண ஆசிகளை அளித்து ஆசிர்வதித்தார். அன்று முதற்கொண்டு இவ்வாறு ஏழுமலையானின் படத்தை வரைந்து பிறருக்கு கொடுப்பதை எனது சேவையாக செய்து வருகிறேன். இப்படத்தை உருவாக்குவதற்குண்டாகும் பொருட்களுக்கு ஆகும் செலவின் தொகையையும், எனது எளிய ஜீவனத்திற்குண்டாகும் செலவின் தொகையையும் மட்டுமே பெற்று வருகிறேன். நான் வரைந்துள்ள சில படங்களின் போட்டோ பிரதிகளை கீழ்வருமாறு அளித்துள்ளேன்.

(English Version : I have a natural interest in drawing the pictures of temples and indulgence in divine arts from my very early childhood.I have been cultivating this art on my own without any formal tutorship or guidance.In my teens I had an urge to sketch the portrait of Lord Venkateswara of Thirupathi.During my frequent visits in my younger days to the abode of the Lord,I tried to retain the original image of the Lord in my retina to reproduce Him in my drawings.By the grace of Lord Balaji ,it took me years to bring Him out in all splendor and glory in my art.Initially I did the drawings in small visiting cards.Later,I made water colour sketches in a bigger boards.Nowadays,I am doing oil paintings in canvass of larger sizes.

On a memorable occasion,I had the darshan of Maha Periyava at Kanchipuram in the year 1987.I had with me a small card sized drawing of Lord Balaji which I submitted to Him and sought His blessings.The great Sage had a keen look at the card.To my everlasting stupor,the great Sage had requested my permission to keep the card to Himself.Stunned beyond belief,I stood motionless but in His ever kind words He asked what I sought from Him.I reverentially submitted that those who get my Lord Venkateswara portrait should be blessed with prosperity and have a peaceful life.Maha Periyava raised His hands upwards and bestowed His blessings to my request. Since then I have been doing this divine art with a service -oriented motive.I am not driven by commercial interest.I am doing this oil paintings in canvass to various sizes--2'x1',3'x2',4'x3',8'x5'.I have to my credit two portrait of 8'x5' and one of this is adorning Kanchi mutt.The great Silpi of vikatan fame is my inspiration.

I collect a reasonable amount towards the cost of canvass board,oil paint and my labour.I am posting the copies of my paintings and sketches for your glimpse.)

இதற்கு அடுத்ததாக வரும் இப்படம் எனது நண்பர் ஒருவர் தனது கடையின் வரவேற்பு அறையில் வைப்பதற்கு ஏழுமலையானின் உருவத்தின் உண்மையான உயரத்திலேயே வரைந்து தரும்படி கேட்டுக்கொண்டார். அங்ஙனம், வரைந்த இப்படத்தை காணவும்.
